It's been a bit over three months that we've been a Four Family, and the latest addition continues to do well. Dima has started going to Peter Pan, the international pre-school on our campus, a couple mornings a week. He loves it, which is good because he'll soon be going all day Monday-Friday when I go back to work on March 26. The routine and the interaction with other kids have been good for him. While he can't tell us directly what he's learning there, we know he's picking up all kinds of things. He's a quick one!
In the video below, you can see him doing the gesture (hands together and a slight bow) for itadakimasu, a blessing commonly said in Japan before eating. This is something he learned at Peter Pan in the last few weeks, and it brought back fond memories of Denis learning this phrase a few years ago. The rest of the video clip is incredibly boring, but it does give you an idea of the number of times in a day that I hear "mmm", "umm", "uuh" and other variations of such sounds.
In the second clip, Dima's just being silly with his talking and singing dog. But you can see him doing a few motions for Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes and If You're Happy and You Know It. It's fun watching him learn all these basic things. It seems so long ago that Denis was learning these very same songs!
