A New System or A Very Good Excuse

Part of the problem (causing the lack of blog posts) is this new system we're trying out. Home Sharing, I believe it's called. We've decided (ahem, Jon has decided) to consolidate and centralize our mountains of digital media, which is all very good. But basically, this has translated into me not knowing where anything is anymore! I've lost my own iTunes identity, I no longer have all the pictures and videos on my laptop, and I'm forever getting confused as to what should be accessed via the Mac Mini, the Apple TV, and our new friend Plex. As complicated as it all feels at the moment, I know it'll be a good thing in the end. I just need to find the time to figure it all out.

In the meantime, things are going well here. Dima continues to settle into the family and is learning new things by the day. He's still a fabulous eater and asks for food all day long. He uses some sign language - fingers together for "more" and/or fingers in mouth just to emphasize the meaning in case I didn't catch his point! His spoken vocabulary is coming along, too. Na for snack; Ca-ca for cracker; per for slippers and diaper; Da for Denis. Mostly, however, he continues to just say "uh" and "mmm" a lot. And I mean A LOT.

Denis is also doing well. He has truly amazed us with his big-brotherness, if that could be a word. He is so proud to be a big brother! He's still interested in Lego, soccer, and all things boy (except for all the frilly, pink, girly things he likes, too!). His latest interest is roller blading, which he does around the house, even as he washes the dishes! He likes helping me cook, and pretends he is Jolly Oliver (Jamie Oliver - ha!). All in all, life is good. We're going day-by-day, trying to survive the flu season unscathed.

Here are some random photos from the past month or so. Enjoy.
