Pisco Sour, ¡Por Favor!

A few of us honorary Peruanos (and one legitimate Peruana) went for pisco sours at a Chilean - gasp! - restaurant before CA's end-of-year party last night. Who can rightfully claim the pisco sour - Peru or Chile? It matters not to me, as long as they keep finding their way to Kobe, Japan. ¡Que rico! is all we could say. That and Vamos a regresar!

Take Me to the River

A couple of weekends ago, the three of us boarded a train (and another train, and another train, and...) and ended up alongside a river flanked by abandoned tunnels and old railroad tracks. We had a great time exploring the tunnels, skipping rocks across the water, watching birds, and lunching on gyoza at a riverside restaurant.

Mother's Day

I had a lovely Mother's Day today. Denis and I rode bikes, went for lunch, played soccer, and read books on this beautiful May day. In the evening my two boys took me out for an Indian dinner - my favorite! As I put D to bed tonight, I said, "I really like being your mother." His reply? "I really like being your...Denis."

April Showers...May Flowers

We've certainly had our share of April showers this year, and so far, my potted flowers are reaping the rewards. Someday, I'll have a proper garden in which to plant all these beauties!

I always thought tulips were my favorite...

but I think the hydrangea might be topping the list this year.
