Jack-o-Lanterns

We've got Jack-o-Lanterns! The construction paper kind, as well as the carved pumpkin kind. 

Poor Dima - he didn't like the sticky pumpkin innards! In his defense, he'd just woken up from a nap and had a bit of a cold. So he wasn't at his happiest to begin with, and then the sticky, slimy stuff did him in. When he watches this video he laughs and laughs at himself (but also tries to run away just before the crying bit starts!).

Sports Day 2013

One of our favorite days at CA every year - Sports Day! Below are some highlights of the traditional events that pair big kids with little kids and pit the Red Team against the Gray Team. To kick things off, the school always warms up to the Chicken Dance. 

Back to School

D&D on the first day of school

We started back at school a couple of weeks ago and are starting to feel like we're settling into familiar routines.  Denis is in first grade this year and is now in the "big" school building. Dima is in BBP (Building Blocks Program, a fancy name for three-year-old pre-school) in the early childhood building. And aren't our boys lucky - this year Papa is their principal and I am their librarian!

Sayonara, Kindergarten!

A little someone "graduated" from kindergarten today. Hard to believe we'll have a 1st grader next year! Well done, Denis!

Mother's Day

My three boys treated me to coffee in bed for Mother's Day. The coffee was made just the way I like it, with frothy milk and all. What a perfect way to start the day! 

The afternoon found us at the Oji Zoo (plus an amusement park where Dima couldn't get enough of the kiddie roller coaster ride that scared him half to death each time he rode it!). It was a great day to be out and about as the weather was perfect.
